All sessions meet at the C&O Family Chess Center

FOUR SECTIONS each week* (see below for details):

              A)  Chess & Sport (field trips PM-fills first) 9 AM - 4 PM                    

­              B)  * Pro-Chess (full day chess)                     9 AM - 4 PM            

              C)   half-day Mornings (chess only)              9 AM - 12 PM

              D)   * half-day Afternoons (chess only)         1 PM - 4 PM
 

ENROLLMENT:  Limited to 16 full-day students (Gr.2-10). 
Camp size limitation means every student gets more personal attention.

  

TUITION: Full-Day Sections (A&B) $240 

                 Additional full-day weeks: $225
 

                Half-Day Sections (C&D) $120

                 Additional half-day weeks: $100 
 

C&O Center members and current C&O scholastic club members receive an additional $5 discount on the first week and $5 on additional weeks.  

                                         
SUMMER REGISTRATION FORMS



These camps are organized and directed by well known area chess coach, Omar Pancoast, assisted by his son, Coach Ross Pancoast, and other staff.  Chess activities will include individual and group instruction for beginning & intermediate players, problems & puzzles, "bughouse," competition against computer players, and more. 

We offer four distinct options, two for full-day chess and two for half-day chess.

FULL DAY SECTIONS (2): 

        A) "Chess & Sport" - Afternoon activities may include swimming, tubing and other water sport activities, Disc Golf, hiking, and climbing Sugarloaf Mountain, etc.  Rainy day and other activities may include strategy games, Meadowside Nature Center, bowling, movies, and Laser Tag at Shadowland.  Suitable for all ages. limited to 12 students.  Register early - this section fills first!

        * B) "Pro-Chess" - Afternoon activities may include advanced chess instruction, master game analysis, Club or USCF-rated Tournaments, advanced chess problems & puzzles, etc. Recommended for 6th Grade & up and students with an above average interest in improving and competing. NO NEW BEGINNERS! Limited enrollment, 6 students. Instructor approval required.
 

HALF-DAY SECTIONS (2):

        C) Morning Chess (9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon) Beginner & Intermediate instructional program (see above). Recommended for younger campers. Limited enrollment (16).

        * D) Afternoon Chess (1:00 - 4:00 PM) Advanced Beginner & Intermediate instructional program suitable for those with a greater-than-average interest in improving their chess.  Recommended for 6th Grade & up and/or students with an above average interest in improving and competing. NO NEW BEGINNERS! Limited enrollment, 6 students. Instructor approval required.

In addition all students will receive chess study materials, a club-rating, group photo, and a 30-day free trial membership in the Chess Magnet School inter-active on-line program. Students may purchase a regulation sized tournament chess set, a camp T-shirt, books, clocks and other equipment at discounted prices.

Normal registration may be made using the forms found above or below.  If you have no form, you may send (E-mail, or FAX at 240-912-7456) the following information to us:

Student's name; date of birth; home address; parents' (guardian's) names; home, work & cell phone numbers; E-mail address(es); school name & grade completed; camp session(s)/dates requested & full or half day option; after-care request (if needed).
  

Mail (or deliver) full payment, or a non-refundable $50 per child deposit (to ensure discount and reserve place) to:
